LUNA

You weren't even born yet.
I stayed with Baba
while they went to Europe for two weeks
or forever.

Long after bedtime, in the dark kitchen,
the back door hooked higher than
I could reach,
the moon hung on the other side
of the screen
softly moving her pale green wings.
